By staying consistent to MYP assessment standards, our assessment model is criterion-related, which means students are assessed using task specific rubrics that measure their achievement according to IB objectives and against established criteria, not against the work of other students. These tasks may include open-ended problem solving activities and investigations, organized debates, tests and examinations, hands-on experimentation, analysis, reflection, and project-based and collaborative tasks. Throughout the course of the year, teachers will create formative and summative (end of unit) assessments.

The MYP continues at Rampart High School for years 4 and 5 where students complete an independent ‘personal project’ to demonstrate the development of their skills and understanding. Students are required to study Language and literature: English, Language acquisition (Spanish or French), Individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts (both performing and visual), physical education and design. These subject groups are integrated through global contexts which provide contextual understanding and build relevance for learning.
